Quote by: Windell the red LEDs (across the entire board) work, but are very very dim as compared to the rest of the colors. Sometimes they will blink bright red, but switch back to dim immediately though. I'm pretty sure that's a soldering error?Hard to say. The blue LEDs tend to be brighter than they really should, which makes the others look dim by comparison. In the pre-programmed game, do the upper and lower walls look white (as they should), or some other color? As for bright flashes, that can be done by software, so it's hard to say whether or not it's a hardware issue. A bad solder connection at (either end of) R2 or pin 23 of U3 could also cause this problem.
I'm fairly certain all of my solder isn't touching each other and the holes are filled for each spot. However, I have accidentally discovered this: When pushing my hand on the following pins while playing (Did I mention I'm the Da Vinci of my generation in my spare time?):
The red LEDs turn much brighter, about as bright as the other colors. However, other colors start changing too -- Green turns a yellowish orange for instance. Blue seems to stay the same. Any idea why this could be happening? |

The board should not change behavior when you press on it. It's likely, from the appearance, that there are remaining solder issues. Or, the matrix may not be fully inserted into the sockets. Windell H. Oskay drwho(at)evilmadscientist.com http://www.evilmadscientist.com/ |
