The Larson Scanner kit is described in this blog post. That page includes the original source code, schematic, and PCB layout files.
The kit is available for sale here at our web store.
This forum is the right place to post tech support questions about the Larson Scanner, and we'll update this sticky post with frequency asked questions, once we determine what a few more of them are.
FAQ 1. Can you run the Larson Scanner from rechargeable batteries?
Yes. NiCD and NiMH batteries work well.
2. Can you use other color LEDs with the Larson Scanner? Yes, but you may need to make additional changes. Yellow, orange, and yellow-green LEDs can be substituted without other changes. Blue/green/white LEDs require a higher voltage than the 3 V from our battery pack, though. If you want to go to blue, green, or white LEDs, you might consider running from 4.5 V or 5 V, with an appropriate increase in the resistor values as well. Windell H.
