hi there, wonderful project, especially for xmas/new-year times!
i'm about to run to the nearest shop to get the components tomorrow, but just realized that i'm missing a programmer. i'm not sure if i want to buy one, so i though i will quickly prototype one on a breadboard. i found one super-simplistic solution, can please any one with the experience tell me if it's possibly gonna do the thing? http://www.serasidis.gr/circuits/avrprog/avrprog.htm
any advice is much appreciated, happy xmas/ny times!

*IF* you have a computer with a parallel port you can use that type. (See also this version.)
For the rest of us, I suggest LadyAda's USBtinyISP.
