Hello! I am looking for help on my project. What I would like to build is a system of say 3-5 LEDs, perhaps different colors with two buttons. Press Button 1 to turn on an additional LED until they are all on and a single press of Button 2 would turn off an additional LED until all are off. I'd like to do this with the smallest components possible, like MicroLEDs and MicroButtons, and those wide flat batteries.
Alternately but less preferred would be a similar system where the two buttons drive a one digit LED display, though I think that would end up being too big. I could probably make that maybe workable using an LED watch with the date setting function, but I don't know how I'd force the watch to remain in "set date mode" even if I could find one with LEDs (instead of LCD) and with an up and down button for setting (compared to typical up only with number wrap)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've been quite surprised at how hard it's been to learn how to do something that seems so simple.

Consider using something like a Boarduino, maybe? It's small. Or a Teensy 2.0?
