PCB pitch standard? |

I'm trying to put together a parts order for some tinkering, but I'm inundated by all the various parameters to get just the part I need. I love those dual inline header pins that many of the project boards are using, but I don't know what pitch to get (referring to the spacing in between the pins). I'm guessing that I should get the 0.100 inch (2.54 mm) pitch headers - is this correct? Is this pretty much the standard for most projects? |

Yep, 0.100" is pretty typical for through-hole kit stuff. And most of the ICs we use are 0.300". If you check the part numbers on your kit BOMs you can look at datasheets for any specific parts you're wondering about. Just for reference, the 6-pin DIL header we typically use is equivalent to DigiKey 609-3202-ND. |
