I have made some modifications to the code to let the scanner LEDs "run off" the "edge" of the card, and then start over and run back in the other direction, instead of overlapping at each end.
It's basically the first step towards an arbitrarily-long daisy-chained Larson Scanner, but I figured that it's also a stylistic thing that others might want to try for themselves.
So, that said, is there a Google Code group page for the Larson Scanner where I can post it, like there is for Meggy Jr.? Or should I just find a private page to post it on and then post a link?
I apologize if a Google Code page already exists and if there's an easy link to it, but I didn't find anything obvious on the Larson Kit webpage or in here.
Thanks!

I've just created a new site for it: http://code.google.com/p/larsonscanner/
Please contact me privately or through the contact form and let me know the email address associated with your google account so that I can add you as a contributor.

Cheers, Windell.
I've uploaded my v1.0 "runoff" scanner, based on v1.1_alt1. I plan on updating it to incorporate some of the changes made in v1.2 and 1.3, including the "narrow eye" selector on startup, and the EEPROM storage of the speed and brightness, but it does what I need it to do for now.
For anyone wondering, I used a combination of trial-and-error programming, along with an Excel spreadsheet to analyze what all was going on with the different variables used in the program, and then adapted the algorithms and upper loop counter limit to get the scanner eye to start off-board, come on-board in one direction, then off in the other direction.
I may upload a video some time, but my test scanner has seen better days, and is missing an LED, with a few others looking a little bit worse for wear from being dropped (I only flush-mounted 6 of the 9 LEDs, so the other 3 are susceptible to drop damage).
Thanks again, Windell, for creating the Code page where we can share our ideas with each other!
