Hello I got my Meggy for Christmas and recently built it and today I started programming it and I followed all of the instructions and when I tried to upload froggy junior and it told me ,"avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30" and "avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51" and something about com ports. what ever the problem is please help me! |

Every thing else works fine and I have done every thing I can except I can't find comm ports in device manager. |

In the device manager, there should be a section called something like "Ports (COM & LPT)." In that section, you should find an item labeled something like "USB Serial Port (COM7)", or some other COM-number. You'll also need to select that same COM-number in the Arduino menu as well. sorry. The menu doesn't have the word port any where but it is filled with options some one that maybe some what close is universal serial bus controllers. Is there possibly another way to access it? |

but that menu only has standard enhanced pci to usb host controller and 4 standard openhdc usb host controller 6 usb root hub and a usb serial converter. no comm port in sight. |

Okay, it sounds like your computer has the "Ports" option disabled in the BIOS, which is occasionally the standard configuration on certain computers. The "usb serial converter" is probably the one that you're looking for. It may have an "Advanced" tab that you can click. If it gives you the choice, the VCP option should be checked as well.
