I was just noticing that with the current version of the shop [Evil Mad Science] the header has become rather plain... Seems to be trending towards less mad, and more clinical. Is that intentional? Not that it's bad or anything, just missing a little of the flair my addled brain seems to think was there before. Maybe it needs more cowbell? The shop, not my brain.

I guess mostly it just seems to be a disconnect going from Scientist to Science that makes it feel like a different place entirely. Just struck me as odd, while gawking at candle-flicker LEDs.

Little design decisions like these are the ones that we agonize over.

The logo is the same, color and everything, but just a bit smaller. The main reason for the change in the header is that we wanted it to take up less screen space-- to increase our signal-to-noise ratio a little bit.

I didn't mean to make it sound like the very last change was a huge shock, I just meant that each change (to both sites) must have slowly meandered to where they are today. I say slowly, because I assume I would have noticed it earlier. If you set the sites side-by-side, they're just... different.



I guess all I'm trying to say is that the header is empty (aside from where it isn't), and white. The new narrow strip actually matches the size of this site's header now, but it's so empty! I like the logo and everything, just trying to think of some way to add continuity between the sites... Maybe stick one of your macro closeups of a Peggy or something in there. Or ignore me. I usually do.
