Diavolino built and blinking. I assume that is a good sign and the blink program has been loaded Smile

I'm read toy test with my own programs but want to be sure I do not overwrite the boot loader on this one.

I am NOT using the USB-ISP. I'm using an AVRISP stk500v1. I've soldered the 6 pin header on the board. This is how I would do an upload:

PHP Formatted Code

avrdude -V -F -C /etc/avrdude.conf  -p atmega328p -P /dev/ttyUSB0 -c stk500v1  -b 115200 -U flash:w:tmp/test.hex

will that overwrite the boot loader?

Not sure why. It's easy to reflash the bootloader, and you have an ISP programmer-- that's better in almost all ways.

>will that overwrite the boot loader?

It should not, if you leave the fuses alone. The bootloader section is in the "locked" section, and can (in principle) only be unlocked by changing the fuse values.

Thanks,

I was a bit confused about the whole concept of a boot loader. I have another project that is based on the ATtiny2313 and is NOT using any Arduino APIs. Of course there is no boot loader on that and it is all custom layout.

Diavolino works great now that I've figured out the TTL issue. Very nice.
