My Meggy Jr default game works great. But I can't program it using arduino v22.

The ardunio tools/serial port is not showing any connection to the Meggy Jr. The Meggy is turned on and the cable is connected. Green cable end is oriented correctly.

I checked these connections and they are correct
Connector pin 1,2 -> Chip pin 8 (ground)
Connector pin 4 -> Chip pin 2 (RX)
Connector pin 5 -> Chip pin 3 (TX)
(Pin 1 of the connector and chip each have a square pad.)

I have resoldered the j2 and pins 1,2,3 on the ata

I'm wondering if I have a bad cable. I bought it with my Meggy Jr.

Thanks

Eric

Do you mean to say that the serial port does not show up in the Arduino Tools>Serial port list? If so, then the problem is likely not on the Meggy Jr end.

First, try unplugging the cable (at both ends) and plugging it back into your computer (and not to the Meggy Jr). See if it shows up in the menu then. If not, try installing (or reinstalling) the FTDI VCP ("virtual com port" ) driver for your operating system: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Thanks I'll try that. I'm without power at home because of Irene hurricane. So it may be a few days.
