Somewhere on here I read a post about problems with flaking paint when engraving.

I noticed that the way the motor is oriented that it looks like it makes an up and down motion like a chisel.

Has anyone tried rotating the motor 90 degrees and putting it in line with the engraver. That would give it a back and forth scratching motion with a little up and down. The only issue I could see is possible fatigue fractures of the hinge because its now more of a twisting side to side motion.

Just a thought, love the site I really want an egg bot but would never get it past my wife.
