Two Diavolino kits built and appear to be working. 
I've a bit of experience with microcontrollers, but this is my first with the Arduino platform. Needed a simple little dev board and this seems like a good choice.
Did a couple of minor mods while building...
Put the D13 LED in a socket (because sometimes you just don't want it, but the rest of the time...).
Cut the autoreset trace on the bottom of the board right where it bends (near the capacitor location, under the 6pin serial header). Soldered the autoreset capacitor across the cut. Put a 2pin header on top of the board in place of the capacitor, with a removable shunt. (Now instead of trying to override the autoreset, can simply disable it.)
