Where to solder an alternate program switch?

I'm going to tweak my eggbot in a number of ways, mechanical, and also electrical. First thing I'd like to do is to add an alternate PRG button, to be able to stop a plot without reaching down on the board.

Any hints if and where on the contacts this would have to be connected?

Thanks

Klaus

It is possible to pause a plot underway by pressing the "PRG" button on the EBB. You may want a larger, more accessible "Pause" button. It's possible to add one. As per the EBB command set, you can add an external input at location RB0 (RB2 for older v. 1.1 EBBs). This input should be connected through a normally open switch to ground, preferably through 1k resistor. (Be careful: B0 is NOT 5V tolerant. You could damage the input if you connect it to 5 V instead.)

There are additional "servo" connectors as well as other unused pins available, so that you can add on additional buttons and features, with corresponding software changes.

You can also solder directly two wires directly to the pins of the switch, to effectively "press" the switch with a remote switch.

Hi Windell,

thanks a lot for that pointer! Is there a pinout available somewhere?

So b0 is the pin above the orange cable of the servo cable, while ground is available (I assume) at the pin above the brown cable (reg. build in configuration)?

So I would basically use a plug above the servo cable to pull b0 to GND over a 1k resistor, right?

Thanks

Klaus
